The Tairawhiti Museum class trip.

Tairawhiti Museum!!!

 

On friday the 29 of October my class had a class trip.We went to the Tairawhiti Museum!when we got of the bus we all got in a line and waited for the nice lady and she said we can call her Aunty Ora!

In this trip Aunty Ora the Toured us through the whole Museum.it was so much fun I loved it.One of the reasons why it was fun is because we got to learn a lot about the objects that was in the museum.

In the slide show you would have seen us doing and activity the activity was us making a piece of art we used a please of phone but it wasn't that sick and are you like a toothpick to make my shake's.

I enjoyed seeing if my answers were correct.

at first we had to find the group and talk about what kindness one-size-fits-all means.

This activity challenged me a lot but that was very fun.

I found it hard to understand what I meant when you first heard about it.

when I figured out what it meant it was easy and very fun to make this colorful slide.

Next time I will try to put more things on my slide 

and ask more questions about what it means.

Road Safety

We were learning about road safety for Road Safety awareness week.  We had to use the i-movie ipad app to create an advertisement.

We used the imovie trailers to make our movie on the ipad.

Finn, Mash, Ekam, and Manaijah were on my team.  

I found it easy to edit my movie.

I found it a little hard to work with my team.

Next time I will try to work with my team better and collaborate with my team.

The game

 

For our writing we have been writing Narratives. We have been learning to add a great hook in or opening line to our writing and to start our sentences in different ways.

This week we also had to have a smile and alliteration in our writing. This slide shows my hook in, sentence beginnings, simile and alliteration.

We are using our Kaiwhakarite/Self Manager learning asset by reflecting on our learning.

What is a scientist?

We were learning to make our thinking visible by sharing our ideas about what a scientist is and what they do. For inquiry this term we are learning about CHANGE through Science, so this was a way for us to show what we already know about Science. We were also learning how to create a book using the Book Creator website.

Our learning asset focus for this activity was Whaiwhakaaro/We are thinkers. To be successful, I needed to explain my thinking to others. I think that I did this by creating a book to show my thinking and ideas around what a scientist is and to explain the skills or attributes that I think that a scientist needs.

I found it easy to add content to the page by clicking on the + icon. It was easy to change the text style and size and to add the backgrounds that I wanted for each of my pages.

I found it challenging to think of lots of ideas about the different skills that a scientist would need to use. I also found it hard to complete my book in the time that we had.

Next time I think I need to add some audio to my book by recording my voice so that people can read my thinking or listen to it. I enjoyed using the Book Creator website and seeing the books that the kids in my class made. I think that I would like to use this again to make more books to share my learning.

I found it easy to make the slide and I also enjoyed making the slide.

I found it hard to come up with all the reasons for reach for the stars when learning has no limits.

Dancing with the Stars

We were learning about Dancing with the Stars.  Dancing with the stars is where we create dances to a piece of music in our group.  Every group creates their dance and then performs for the other groups and the judges.

I found it easy to practice the dance moves and works with my team.

I found it hard to do the dance in front of all the other teams.

I really enjoyed figuring out what dance move we can do in our routine.

Next time I need to put more effort into performing.

 

A day at the art room

We went to the art room with Mrs Griffin and we made a korowai in a group.

I was in a group with Eden, Danika and Porshia.

We made the feathers by folding the paper and then doing feather shapes.  Then we outlined them and made little flecks in them.  We added patterns with white pastel and then we dyed them.

Then we stuck them onto the korowai shape.

I liked working in my team.

 

 

The triathlon

                                                                                                                 

Yesterday we were doing our school triathlon at Nelson Park and the Enterprise Pool. I was in a team with Brooklyn and Manaijah. Manaijah was our runner and Brooklyn did the biking, and I did the swimming.

I found it easy to run out of the pool and run to the finish line.

I found it hard to do the second lap in the pool. It was harder because my goggles were not on properly.

I really enjoyed the part in the race when I heard that I came forth in the triathlon and when I heard what place my teammates came in in their different parts of the race.

Next time I need to make sure that my goggles are on properly.

My comic how to take care of your Chromebook

We were learning about making comics on our device and thinking about how to look after our chromebooks.

I found it easy to make the images in my comic.

I found it hard to decide what I'm going to write in the comic to match my images.

I really enjoyed the idea of making a comic on my Chromebook and doing it as well.

Next time I need to add more detail to my comic and my blog post.

 

my bio poem

We were learning  about  Bio poems and learn how to describe ourselves.

I found it easy to to take my photo.

I found it hard to actually type out my bio poem and facts about me.

I did really enjoyed making my by Bio poem because lots of people found out more things about me.  Next time I will try to write more interesting facts about me.
